Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor (DOE)

Location: Risley or Milton

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000

Purpose of the Job

We are seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveying professional to join our team based either out of our Risley or Milton offices. The role will be responsible for supporting the commercial and contract management of our projects, from inception to final account. You will work closely with project teams and support functions, and build good relationships with our clients and supply chain. Your enthusiastic and professional approach will be key to successful project commercial outcomes.

Reports To

Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager

Key Accountabilities

• Provide commercial support for projects operating on lump sum, remeasurable, target cost, or reimbursable basis:
• Project cash flow and budget management
• Review and negotiate contractual terms & conditions with clients and supply chain
• Manage interim applications and change management processes
• Negotiate contract amendments and review terms & conditions
• Handle subcontract accounts, including interim applications, payment certificates, and final accounting
• Prepare internal cost and commercial reports, including margin forecasts
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulations

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (consideration for candidates with relevant experience)
• Minimum 2 years of quantity surveying experience in engineering or construction
• Knowledge of NEC contracts (Options C & E preferred)
• Experience in engineering/construction project surveying duties
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to build effective relationships with teams, clients, and supply chain
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desirable Skills

• Experience with CEMAR Contract Management System
• Current SC Clearance or ability to obtain it
• Full UK driving license
• Willingness to travel within the UK as needed
