Graduate / Assistant / Quantity Surveyor - Doncaster, up to £50k DOE + Package

We have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS to join a specialist Contractor in Doncaster. Hays Construction are recruiting for an experienced and professional specialist SME contractor based in Doncaster. We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Assistant / Quantity Surveyor to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with 2-3 years of post-graduate experience to develop their skills and grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  2. Conduct site visits
  3. Support the preparation of tender documents and contracts
  4. Monitor project progress and ensure costs are kept within budget
  5. Collaborate with the Senior QS / Commercial Manager, Project Managers, Site Teams and all external stakeholders involved in the project
  6. Prepare and submit regular reports on project financials
  7. Assist in the resolution of any financial disputes or issues
Requirements:
  1. Ideally, a BSc Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  2. 2-3 years of post-graduate experience in quantity surveying or a similar role
  3. Strong analytical and numerical skills
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, cost estimating software)
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  7. Career ambition and personal development
