Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd in Liverpool is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their established commercial team. The role focuses on assisting with financial and contractual management across construction projects, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle and NEC forms of contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role.
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline is desirable.
• Understanding of NEC contracts and cost management processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial management of construction projects from inception to final account.
• Support applications for payment and contract administration.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Monitor costs, expenditure and financial performance, flagging variances.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
• Assess variations, compensation events and additional works.
• Administer NEC contracts and relevant notices.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
• Liaise with site teams, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
• Contribute to cost control and value management for projects.
