Assistant Quantity Surveyor for Leading Civils & Groundworks Contractor

Company Overview:

My client is a leading contractor based in Suffolk, specializing in civil engineering, groundworks, and infrastructure works. They collaborate with various house-builders and support industries across East Anglia and South East England.

Position Overview:

They are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Bury St Edmunds, with site visits to projects in Suffolk, Essex, and Norfolk. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in groundworks and civil engineering sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts.
2. Conduct site measurements and assessments from drawings and site visits.
3. Monitor project costs and variations; prepare payment applications.
4. Support tendering processes and final account preparations.
5. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure project delivery within budget and schedule.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks or civil engineering.
• Relevant qualification such as HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Salary:

GBP 35,000 - GBP 50,000 plus package, depending on experience.
