Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in Exeter to join a regional housebuilder's commercial team. Based from the Exeter office, you will support cost management, procurement, measurements, valuations and monthly reporting on new-build residential schemes across Devon.

This permanent role offers a salary of £30,000–£40,000 with a comprehensive benefits package and structured training to help you progress within the business.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
• Experience in new-build residential housing developments.
• HNC qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Strong numerical skills and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials.
• Carry out measurements and valuations.
• Support payment applications and subcontractor accounts.
• Assist with cost reporting and budget monitoring.
• Contribute to final account negotiations and settlements.
• Collaborate with site teams and commercial colleagues through the project lifecycle.
