Assistant Quantity Surveyor for Tier 1 main contractor who rarely recruit

About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Your role as Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be to work as the no 2 commercial on hospital, education, and MOJ projects across North London and Hertfordshire up to £20m.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Procuring subcontract packages
• Managing payments to subcontractors
• Feeding into CVRs
• Measuring works

The initial project is a hospital in North London, so you must be willing to travel to sites.

Requirements:

The company is looking for a candidate with experience working ideally on hospital projects, with knowledge of PFI Contract; however, this is not essential. Experience with a main contractor managing packages from procurement to final accounting is required. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly motivated and keen to join a business with excellent training and progression on offer and someone who wants to build a career in surveying.

• Degree in a construction-related subject
• Ideally, experience with another main contractor managing subcontractor packages

This Tier 1 main contractor has an excellent industry reputation and rarely hires for this team. With an office based near Watford and projects across North London and the Home Counties, the company has an annual turnover of over £2bn but the divisions run as separate entities, providing a smaller/regional business feel with access to the management team.
