About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and reputable construction company based in Ross on Wye. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career in quantity surveying, working on a variety of projects across multiple sectors.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work alongside experienced surveyors to provide support in the management of costs, contracts, and project budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for projects.
  2. Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring compliance with financial targets.
  3. Prepare and review tender documents and contracts.
  4. Assist with the measurement and valuation of works.
  5. Help manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring value for money.
  6. Attend site visits and meetings as required.
  7. Maintain accurate records of project costs, changes, and variations.
  8. Support senior surveyors with reporting and project progress updates.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, but not essential.
  2. Strong attention to detail and a good understanding of construction processes.
  3. Good communication and negotiation skills.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
  5. A proactive, problem-solving attitude and a willingness to learn.
  6. A full UK driving license is desirable due to the nature of site visits.
