Job summary

An established industry player is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team on an exciting £35 million residential project in London. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field and at least three years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably with a Tier 1 Main Contractor. Qualifications

Job description

Our Client are a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor specialising in education, commercial and residential projects across the UK. Due to recent project wins, they are now looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a £35million residential new project based in London, the project has just started and is running until Summer 2026.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
  • Conduct cost analysis, budgets, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular reports on cost performance.
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, and agreements with clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Advise on procurement strategies and contract negotiations.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
  • Identify risks and cost-saving opportunities throughout the project.
  • Prepare final accounts and ensure all payments are processed accurately.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
