Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Ionic Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our long-standing client, a reputable contractor specialising in social housing refurbishment projects. This is a permanent position and a great opportunity for a commercially aware Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to grow within a supportive team.

About the Role:

Due to an increase in work and continued growth, our client is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This role will offer full support from experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, making it ideal for candidates looking to further their career in the social housing sector.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the financial and commercial management of refurbishment projects.
  • Support the preparation of valuations, variations, cost plans, and final accounts.
  • Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  • Monitor and track project costs and financial performance.
  • Aid in preparing monthly cost reports and forecasts.
  • Ensure all commercial procedures are adhered to in line with company policy.

Requirements:

  • 1 2 years' experience in an Assistant QS role.
  • Experience within the social housing or refurbishment sector (preferred but not essential).
  • Degree-qualified or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or similar (desirable).
  • Good commercial awareness and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
