Job description

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Letchworth - Utilities

We are partnering with a ‘cradle to grave’ project delivery partner specialising in planning, commercial and project management. Due to continued growth in their team, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to aid with their development in Letchworth.

Responsibilities

Support Cost Management & Valuations:

Assist in preparing and reviewing interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts, ensuring accurate measurement and documentation of site activities.

Procurement & Subcontractor Engagement:

Help in the procurement of subcontract packages and materials, supporting tender analysis and issuing orders under supervision.

Change Control & Variations:

Track and evaluate site instructions and change events, compiling cost data to support variation claims and commercial impact assessments.

Site Visits & Measurement:

Regularly attend site to carry out measurements, record keeping, and ensure alignment between site progress and commercial reporting.

Commercial Reporting & Record-Keeping:

Maintain accurate project cost records, assist in compiling reports for internal stakeholders, and support the Senior QS or Commercial Manager in maintaining financial control.

Requirements

Must have relevant degree level qualification

Must have 2+ years’ post qualification experience

Previous Civils/Utilities experience is preferred
