A specialist main contractor is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. With an emphasis on effective delivery and integrity, they are making a significant impact in the UK's construction industry. Operating across diverse sectors such as education, hotel & leisure, residential, senior living, student accommodation, cladding remediation, and commercial projects, they boast a varied and engaging project portfolio. With an impressive £200m turnover and a team of over 200 talented individuals, this contractor prioritises development and progression for its employees.



The role

You will be site-based with a Senior Quantity Surveyor and a skilled site team on a £9m hotel refurbishment scheme. This is your chance to take ownership on a small part of the scheme worth £500k, with the full support of the onsite team.



What will you be responsible for?

Working under the guidance of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you\'ll manage costs, assess financial viability, and ensure value for money while maintaining compliance with legal and contractual standards.



Your day-to-day may include


  • The financial assessment and reporting of projects

  • Supporting procurement activities and evaluating subcontractor returns

  • Managing applications for payment and conducting on-site measurements

  • Producing commercial reports and maintaining accurate project documentation

  • Collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and client representatives



The right person

2 years experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or a subcontractor. You will live within an hour of London.
