Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hatfield / North London
Salary: Up to £40,000 + Benefits

We are working with one of the UK s largest and most reputable social housing refurbishment contractors, who are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of planned maintenance works across North London.

The Role:

  • As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you ll work closely with the commercial team and help manage costs on a range of refurbishment projects, including kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing, and external works for local authority and housing association clients.
  • Key Duties:
  • Assist with cost control and budget management across multiple sites
  • Support the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Procure subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and manage payments
  • Liaise with site teams and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Keep accurate commercial records and support monthly reporting

Requirements:

  • 1 3 years experience in a similar QS or Assistant QS role
  • Ideally experience within social housing, refurbishment, or general contracting
  • Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
