Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Assistant Quantity Surveyor to develop their career within a renowned and specialised contractor. Working closely with the wider Commercial team and Project Managers, this person will play a crucial role in the financial success of projects, gaining invaluable hands:on experience across the full project lifecycle.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Assisting with the preparation of tender documents, procurement schedules, and contract administration.
• Supporting the measurement and valuation of works, including site measurements and preparation of valuations for interim payments.
• Assisting in the preparation of cost reports, variations, and final accounts.
• Contributing to the identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities.
• Supporting the negotiation and agreement of sub:contractor accounts.
• Attending site meetings and contributing to project progress discussions.
• Maintaining accurate and up:to:date project cost records and documentation.
• Assisting with the assessment and submission of claims.
• Collaborating effectively with project teams, clients, and sub:contractors.
• Adhering to company commercial procedures and policies.
  
  

What Were Looking For

• A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Some practical experience within a construction environment (desirable, but not essential for exceptional graduates).
• A strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial principles.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive, organised, and detail:oriented approach to work.
• A strong desire to learn and develop within the Quantity Surveying profession.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable).
