Job summary

CPXR is recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established Civil Engineering Contractor based in East Kent.

This role supports the Quantity Surveyor on projects and will progress toward managing your own workload, with a focus on cost control, commercial management, and tender preparation.

• Background in Civil Engineering.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity surveying and commercial management on civil engineering projects.
• Support cost estimates, valuations, variations, and subcontractor payments.
• Assist with tendering, procurement, and preparation of bills of quantities.
• Maintain cost records, budgets, and project documentation.
• Work with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients to monitor costs.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Folkestone, Kent

Salary: £32,000 - £45,000 DOE

The opportunity

CPXR is recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established Civil Enginerring Contractor based in East Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Civil Enginerring who is looking for progression.

The role will involve assisting the Quantity Surveyor in his projects to eventually manage your own.

The company offers progression and support.

The role

• 1-2 days per week on site.
• Assist with quantity surveying and commercial management across civil engineering projects.
• Support with cost estimates, valuations, variations, and subcontractor payments.
• Assist with tendering, procurement, and the preparation of bills of quantities.
• Maintain accurate cost records, budgets, and project documentation.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to monitor project costs and commercial performance.

The ideal candidate

• Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
• Background in Civil Engineering
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
