Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and forward-thinking construction consultancy. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to develop within a supportive and experienced team, working on a diverse range of projects across the built environment.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, tender documentation, and budget planning
  • Carry out measurements and valuations of construction works
  • Support the management of procurement processes and contract administration
  • Monitor project costs, variations, and financial progress
  • Attend site visits, client meetings, and project briefings
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Provide general support to senior quantity surveyors on live projects

About the Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or currently studying)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and construction cost software (e.g. CostX, Bluebeam)
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Ambition to progress toward RICS chartership (APC support provided)
