Assistant Quantity Surveyor

A quality-led, privately owned house builder is looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for house building schemes in their Warwick office.

The Role:

Working in the Commercial Team responsible for the financial performance of live house building projects.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Assist with project cost control, including site budgets, value engineering, monitoring actual costs, monthly valuations, progress, and stock on site.
• Implement value engineering solutions and strategies to optimize profit and efficiency.
• Attend project team meetings, sharing site budgets and cost variances.
• Handle sub-contractor enquiries, analysis, and orders, including roads, sewers, and groundworks.
• Manage labour estimates, sub-contractor valuations, progress, site measurements, variations, retentions, contra charges, and final accounts.
• Manage customer variations, site-specific pricing, quotations, sub-contractor orders, and monitor costs.
• Report weekly sales completions.

A quality housebuilder that constructs private homes with a variety of house types, doing things a little differently from major house builders.

The Person:

Likely candidates include those who have previously worked as Trainee Quantity Surveyors, Assistant QS, or Surveyors in a similar house building environment. Alternatively, candidates with a Quantity Surveying qualification seeking their first role are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications/Experience are not essential but experience in the house building sector is advantageous. Candidates should have either an HND, a Degree, or experience as a Trainee QS or Assistant QS.
