Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are effectively controlled and monitored. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  • Conduct cost control analyses throughout the project lifecycle to identify areas for savings.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
  • Provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to senior management.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all financial dealings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., CostX, Excel).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS) is advantageous but not essential.
