Job summary

Dalkia UK is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our established commercial team. You will support the management of MEP works across multiple Birmingham Airport projects in a live operational environment.

You will help with subcontractor payments, orders, and cost reporting while coordinating with accounts, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure robust commercial delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team in managing MEP works across Birmingham Airport projects.
• Prepare and process subcontractor payment applications and notices.
• Raise and manage subcontract orders and purchase orders.
• Liaise between accounts and the project team to resolve commercial queries.
• Assist in the compilation of cost reports for internal and external reporting.
• Support cash flow forecasting activities.
• Assist with measurement and valuation of works, including variations and final accounts.
• Provide general commercial support to the wider team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our established commercial team delivering multiple refurbishment projects within a live operational environment at Birmingham Airport. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile programme alongside an experienced team on complex Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works.

Role Overview

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of MEP works across multiple projects. You will play a key role in maintaining cost control, managing subcontractors, and supporting the delivery of projects within a live airport setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team in managing MEP works across Birmingham Airport projects
• Preparation and processing of subcontractor payment applications and notices
• Raising and managing subcontract orders and purchase orders
• Liaising between accounts and the project team to resolve commercial queries
• Assisting in the compilation of cost reports for internal and external reporting
• Supporting cash flow forecasting activities
• Assisting with the measurement and valuation of works (from site and drawings), including variations and final accounts
• Providing general commercial support to the wider team
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners

Skills & Experience

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working with an M&E contractor or main contractor
• Experience within live or operational environments (e.g. aviation, healthcare, infrastructure)

• Ongoing support towards RICS accreditation
