Job description

Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Chelmsford, Essex (Hybrid - Office-based with some remote working)
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 + Package


Overview:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Client's commercial team based in Chelmsford, Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a dynamic and supportive environment, working on projects with leading Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors on a range of high-profile projects.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the commercial team with the management of project costs, valuations, and reporting
  2. Assist in the preparation and analysis of tender documentation
  3. Monitor project progress and help manage subcontractor accounts
  4. Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
  5. Help with the procurement of subcontractors and materials
  6. Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and commercial best practices

Requirements:
  1. Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  2. Previous experience with a Main construction or Sub Contractor is preferred
  3. Strong numerical and analytical skills
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Self-motivated and eager to develop professionally
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software (e.g. Excel, project cost systems)
