Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job Overview
  • Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating Main Contracts and Subcontracts to ensure favourable commercial terms.
  • Cost Management: Break down estimates into cost budgets and monitor project expenditure.
  • Tender & Procurement: Source, tender, and procure subcontractor and supplier packages.
  • Payment Applications: Prepare and issue Applications for Payment, while also assessing and approving subcontractor and supplier payments.
  • Value project variations, changes, and compensation events, ensuring all necessary substantiation is provided.
  • Prepare delay notifications, extensions of time, and cost impact assessments.
  • Support the preparation of loss and expense claims, ensuring additional sums due are properly calculated and justified.
  • Work with site teams to create Cost-Value-Forecasts (CVF) and track financial performance.
  • Advise operations teams on cost implications, risks, and commercial strategies for projects.
  • Assist in maintaining Gantt Charts and project timelines to reflect changes and progress.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements
  • Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Background in demolition, asbestos removal, geotechnical, or civil engineering projects is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, construction contracts, and cost control processes.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English skills.
