Due to continued success and a growing portfolio, they are looking for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team at their Salford office. Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Senior Estimator, the successful candidate will provide essential support across both pre-construction and commercial functions of the business. This includes assisting with pricing, procurement, cost reporting, and subcontractor engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Senior QS and Estimator with day-to-day commercial and estimating duties.

Break down project packages and assist in the preparation and distribution of PPQs.

Help price and prepare estimates for upcoming projects.

Assist in managing subcontractor procurement processes, including issuing enquiries and analysing returns.

Help prepare and process supplier and subcontractor payments.

Compile, maintain, and present internal cost reports and commercial updates.

Prepare costings for variations for review and approval by management.

Ensure accurate documentation and support commercial compliance across projects.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar Assistant QS/Estimator or Trainee role within the construction industry is preferred.

Understanding of commercial and estimating functions, ideally within office fit-out or interior refurbishment sectors.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); familiarity with estimating or project management software is a plus.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Based locally to Salford or able to reliably commute.
