Assistant Quality Assurance Manager

Hybrid role - working from our office at One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle Upon Tyne, and from home

Permanent, full-time (37.5 hpw)

£30,000 to £35,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience) plus benefits including Health Cash Plan

As Assistant Quality Assurance Manager, you will support maintaining our ISO 9001 certification across our housing and development projects, ensuring statutory, regulatory, and quality compliance as we build homes for our customers.

Typical day as Assistant Quality Assurance Manager

  • Maintaining our Document Management System, including managing the legal register, compliance records, consultation logs, and lessons learned trackers.
  • Supporting the Quality Assurance Manager in conducting internal and external audits for ISO 9001, creating reports, action plans, and sharing audit outcomes with colleagues.
  • Monitoring performance across our Quality Management System, investigating customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
  • Implementing quality assurance policies, standards, and manuals, and providing training to foster a culture of quality and compliance.
  • Supporting change projects and collaborating with teams across development and asset management to drive continuous improvement.

You have

  • Experience in maintaining ISO 9001 quality management systems and knowledge of its key requirements.
  • Strong IT skills, including SharePoint, Power BI, Power Apps, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a quality assurance role within residential construction or housing, with knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance for Registered Social Landlords and new build housing.
  • Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in change management and quality assurance.
  • An eye for detail, influencing skills, and collaborative approach to teamwork.

Job details

  • Full-time, 37.5 hpw, Monday to Friday.
  • Hybrid working: at least two days in the office at One Strawberry Lane, with occasional work at other locations for audits.
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are useful but not essential; mileage expenses paid.
