Job summary

Practice Plus Group is hiring an Assistant Psychologist for HMP Wymott. The role supports psychological care across the prison, delivering assessments, group interventions and 1-1 sessions under supervision. You’ll work within ACCT/CSIP frameworks to help patients with complex needs in a demanding but rewarding environment.

Minimum requirement is a Psychology degree, with a Masters seen as beneficial. The position is part-time (30 hours/week) with salary £23,411–£26,808 per year, commensurate

Qualifications

• Hold a Degree in Psychology (required).
• Masters degree would be beneficial but not essential.
• Experience in paid Assistant Psychologist role (prison, community or clinical setting) is desirable.
• Experience facilitating patient therapeutic groups and delivering psychological assessment/interventions within evidence-based models (CBT/CFT/DBT).
• Experience in secure environments would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Support the psychological care of patients throughout their journey.
• Run clinics, assessments, and 1-1 sessions with patients.
• Triage assessments and identify patient needs.
• Prepare and deliver psychological intervention group sessions (trauma informed).
• Provide psychological assessment and interventions under supervision of a qualified psychologist.
• Work with people with complex needs in challenging situations or behaviours.
• Contribute to ACCT and CSIP processes and monitor patient mental health changes.
