Job description

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of children, young people, and their carers across all sectors of care, providing psychological interventions under the supervision and direction of a qualified HCPC registered psychologist. The role involves working according to the plan agreed with a qualified HCPC registered psychologist and within the overall framework of the Services policies and procedures. Additionally, the post holder will assist in clinically related administration, conduct audits, collect statistics, develop audit and research projects, and contribute to teaching and project work.

The post holder will join the CAMHS ND or LD team responsible for delivering specialist CAMHS services to children with high needs in the Borough of Enfield.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support co-facilitation of manualised group interventions.
  2. Support co-facilitation of psycho-education sessions.
  3. Support specialist psychological assessments of children and young people.
  4. Assist in developing formulations, including scoring self-report measures, rating scales, and outcome measures.
  5. Support structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, families, and others involved in care, when appropriate.
  6. Provide support and guidance to other professionals involved in clients' formulation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  7. Assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups and workshops.
  8. Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary or multi-agency meetings, such as linking with schools.
  9. Engage in discussions around formulation and care planning under supervision.
  10. Support waiting list management, team protocols, audits, service development, quality improvement projects, and service user participation.
  11. Assist clinicians with psychological assessments, including the use of self-report measures, rating scales, observations, and interviews.
  12. Support specialist assessments, such as neurodevelopmental assessments.
  13. Undertake 1:1 manualised interventions under supervision.
  14. Assist with psychometric assessments and the creation/modification of clinical resources.
  15. Support routine welfare check calls for low-risk cases without safeguarding concerns, under supervision.
  16. Contribute to service-level projects and ensure clinical governance through accurate note entry into RiO.
  17. Shadow clinical staff during assessments and interventions.
