This is an opportunity to work as an Assistant Psychologist at the Moorlands Neurological Centre, which is a neuro behavioural hospital service for men and women over the age of 18 years who have an acquired brain injury. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop specialist skills and contribute to various psychological assessments, interventions, and research projects, under the supervision of the Senior Psychologist.

Main duties of the job

As an Assistant Psychologist, you will be working with people with long-term neurological conditions, addressing conditions like depression, self-harm, physical health concerns, and psychological distress including trauma.   • Facilitating psychological interventions on a 1:1 and/or group basis to service users, monitoring and reporting upon their effectiveness
  • Assisting in designing and delivering specialist training to others

  • Maintaining clinical databases

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of an upper second-class honours degree in Psychology conferring eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)

  • Experience of maintaining office systems and undertaking administration tasks

The service will support and care for people who, because of their injury, have challenging and complex needs that are preventing them from making further progress with their lives and require a neuro behavioural rehabilitation. programme.
