Job summary

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and dynamic person with good communication skills to fulfil the Assistant Psychologist role within the Mental Health Service. Assistant Psychologists in this setting must have at least one year prior experience of working with offenders and/or patients with complex mental health difficulties.

The role is varied and involves supporting qualified clinical or forensic psychologists in completing assessments and delivering individual and group therapy. The post holders will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing development of specialist treatment programmes as well as research and project delivery. MDT working is also an integral part of the role. Research, evaluation and writing for publication are actively supported; ongoing professional development is encouraged and supervision considered a priority.
