We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS), supporting children, young people, and their families in Cheshire East. This post offers hands-on experience in a busy and dynamic mental health service, where you will work alongside Clinical Psychologists and other professionals.

As an Assistant Psychologist, you will assist in delivering psychological assessments and interventions under supervision. You will be involved in clinical work, data collection, service evaluation, and audit processes, supporting the team in providing high-quality care.

You will gain invaluable experience in a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT and other evidence-based interventions. There will be opportunities for supervision and training to develop your clinical skills, with a focus on improving outcomes for young people with mental health challenges.

This post is ideal for psychology graduates aspiring to a future career in clinical psychology and is a great stepping-stone to gaining relevant experience in a clinical setting.

Essential requirements: A psychology degree (minimum 2:1) and eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the BPS.

This job role, under supervision from a Principal Clinical Psychologist, will be responsible for

Supporting and enhancing the care of clients referred to the CYPMHS

Co-facilitating group interventions under the supervision of a qualified

professional Psychologist.

To assist in clinically related administration and audit and/or research

projects.

To work in the Psychology Team developing and organising data, self-help materials and other resources
