An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Diabetes Psychology team within North Tees and Hartlepool. The post is full time and fixed term for one year. The role will include conducting clinical assessments and administering psychometric instruments as appropriate, being involved in service development/evaluation and audit projects, delivering basic therapeutic and interventions, and providing training.
You will be working alongside the clinical psychologist for paediatric diabetes to support the delivery of an evidence based, empathic and effective service. This can include
- Supporting the design, implementation and evaluation of psychological input and thinking to the paediatric diabetes service
- Supporting mental health and psychological assessments and care plans using a range of psychological models (e.g. compassion focused therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, behavioural activation, attachment and interpersonal models)
- Completing cognitive assessments, writing accessible reports and offering support to case managers to feedback the findings
- Supporting evidence-based practice and service delivery by completing literature and research reviews
- Support the development, implementation and evaluation of service improvement projects
- Creating and updating therapeutic and information resources
- Contributing to teamwork through reflective practice, team meetings, peer supervision and training
- Completing clinical observations to inform assessments and formulations
