Role: Assistant Psychologist
Hours: full time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £22,896 to £28,842 depending on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities for an Assistant Psychologist:
- Working with teachers and other school staff to implement the advice provided through educational psychology assessments
- Planning and delivering outcome-focused interventions for individual children or groups of children who may be vulnerable and/or have additional needs within the school
- Writing summary reports and intervention impact assessments
- Assisting, from time to time, in research and evaluation work including the development of evaluation methods and data collection, and contributing to summary reports
- Planning project work or development work in schools and other educational settings
- Assisting in the preparation and delivery of training in areas of psychology relevant to educational and child psychology
- Leading in the development of educational and psychological resources and materials
- Taking a lead role in service evaluation work including the development of evaluation methods, data collection and reporting mechanisms
- Other ad hoc administrative duties related to the efficient running of the organisation
- Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made
- Have knowledge of safeguarding and risk in relation to working with children and young people
- Maintain good professional practice
Key skills and requirements for an Assistant Psychologist:
- A BPS accredited psychology degree (essential)
- Training or a further qualification in Educational Psychology (desirable)
- Training in trauma-informed practice (desirable)
- Demonstrable experience of working in UK based SEND/SEMH education or similar care or health environment (essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, particularly making complex information meaningful
- Motivation and passion regarding care for children who have experienced trauma
- A full, UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel off site
