Job summary

Turning Point in Wakefield is seeking an Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join the Talking Therapies service. You will work closely with clinical staff to support delivery of interventions and run groups and workshops, helping patients access timely support.

The role offers regular supervision, masterclasses, and CPD planning to develop your skills and career within a well-established mental health service.

Job Introduction

We are excited to be recruiting for an opportunity to join Turning Point's highly successful and innovative Talking Therapies service.

At Wakefield Talking Therapies, we provide evidence-based psychological therapies to support people experiencing common mental health difficulties. We are looking for a service based Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team.

In this role, you will work closely with both Low and High Intensity Therapists to support the delivery of psychological interventions, facilitate groups and workshops, and help patients access the support they need. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and experience within a well established and experienced mental health service.

Role Responsibility

You will join our team in Wakefield to assist with the delivery of the service and as a key member of the team, you will be working closely with our clinical team to maintain our high standard and help us to develop.

As an Assistant PWP you’ll be managing your own workload and working alongside our qualified and trainee therapists to support delivery of groups and workshops as well as supporting clients before, during and after their engagement with the service.

You will get regular supervision and will be able to access regular masterclasses to develop your skills and support your career development. You will work with your supervisor and line manager to make sure development and CPD plans are in place for your ongoing growth.

As well as being passionate about helping people, you will need outstanding written and telephone communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. We have an active wellbeing working group made up staff from within various different roles in the service who work together to organise events, keep people connected and provide information and support helping to make this a really great place to work.
