Assistant Property Manager / Student Accommodation Housing Officer

We are seeking an experienced individual with a background in delivering front-line customer service, especially in roles helping vulnerable people, to join our Specialist Housing - Student & Keyworker team at A2Dominion, based in Oxford, Oxfordshire.

SALARY: £29,257 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Oxford, Oxfordshire (OX4) – 100% Site Based

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Job Overview

In this role, you will ensure residents receive exceptional service, feel at home, and that properties are well-managed and compliant. You will assist in delivering high-quality housing management, acting as a single point of contact for residents, handling everything from tenancy paperwork to liaising with contractors.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in accommodation allocation, including issuing tenancy documents, handling end-of-tenancy processes, and ensuring properties are ready for new tenants.
  • Handle reception duties such as greeting visitors, answering calls, managing appointments, and providing administrative support.
  • Perform administrative tasks including issuing correspondence, producing invoices, and responding to enquiries.
  • Assist with low-level arrears management to maximize income.
  • Report and escalate repairs and maintenance issues.
  • Monitor contractor performance and coordinate inspections and testing visits.
  • Carry out estate and property inspections, maintaining accurate records and addressing issues.
  • Support budget monitoring, stock use, and service charge management.
  • Promote good housekeeping and fire safety practices among occupants.
  • Resolve customer queries promptly, liaising with operational teams and external partners.
  • Maintain documentation to organizational standards.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support residents.
  • Represent the organization at meetings and forums as required.
  • Produce performance reports to support tenancy management objectives.
Candidate Requirements
  • GSCEs (Grades A*-C) in Math and English or equivalent.
  • Experience in front-line customer service roles, especially with vulnerable populations.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to understand customer needs.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Housing experience is desirable but not essential.
