Join a supportive, community-focused team in Preston helping vulnerable individuals move towards independent living.

THE ROLE
We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Assistant Project Officer to join the Homeless Prevention team at The Spires, a 26-bed move-on scheme supporting individuals who have experienced or are at risk of rough sleeping.

  • Provide person-centred support that empowers residents to live independently

  • Support tenant wellbeing and engagement with local services

  • Deliver activities promoting inclusion, wellbeing and life skills

  • Maintain accurate case notes and electronic records

  • Monitor rent payments and provide office cover, handling reception and phone enquiries

  • Carry out health and safety checks across the building and apartments

  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with procedures

THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for someone with experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally within housing or homelessness services.

  • Experience supporting people who have experienced homelessness or multiple disadvantage

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a flexible approach

  • Knowledge of safeguarding adults and relevant procedures

  • Comfortable delivering group activities or community events

  • Competent using IT systems including Microsoft Office for record keeping and admin

THE CONTRACT
Full Time, 35 Hours per week.
Shifts include 8am–4pm and 12pm–8pm with occasional Saturdays (9am–5pm).
3 Month Temporary Contract – Temp to Perm opportunity.
The pay for the role is £16.13 per hour (LTD) or £13.84 per hour PAYE, inclusive of holiday.
