We are recruiting for an Assistant Project Procurement Manager to join our team in Siemens Mobility. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Customer Services Procurement Team based in Goole or Northampton.

We’re looking for someone who is not afraid to challenge the status quo, who looks for opportunities to make things better, and who wants to make a difference at Siemens! The mission of our Procurement Department is to work with our Supply Chain, particularly our UK suppliers, to find innovative products and services. We collaborate closely with our cross-functional colleagues to ensure we deliver great products for our customers.

Reporting to the Head of Project Procurement, you will manage various sourcing activities, playing a key role in ensuring that the UK’s rail network provides the best possible services to passengers. You will support the delivery of our train maintenance projects across the UK through the management of supplier performance.

You’ll make a difference by …

  • Developing robust procurement strategies aligned to bid / project scope requirements and driving these through the implementation phase.
  • Developing skills required to draft subcontracts and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Supporting and maintaining the procurement strategy and ensuring alignment with the wider business.
  • Participating in project kick-off meetings to ensure procurement requirements are incorporated from the start.
  • Implementing robust procurement processes and controls into projects in line with governance.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Implementing a supplier management regime to monitor supplier performance and drive improvements.
  • Identifying supply chain risks and documenting these as part of our due diligence process.
