Norfolk County Council is seeking an Assistant Project Officer to join the Active Travel delivery team. This role involves assisting with projects that promote healthier, greener communities through cycling and walking initiatives, while ensuring effective financial management and reporting.

Assistant Project Officer (Cycling and Walking) | 8442 | Fixed Term Contract until 30 September 2026 | 37 hours per week | £27,711 to £30,060 per annum (Scale F) | County Hall
This role supports the Active Travel delivery team within the Environment Service by assisting with externally funded projects. The Assistant Project Officer will handle administrative tasks, manage budgets and financial data, and support project delivery through planning, risk management, and reporting.
The role contributes to Norfolk's walking, wheeling, and cycling strategy, promoting healthier, greener communities by encouraging active travel, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing overall quality of life and environmental health.
We seek an enthusiastic individual capable of working effectively within a team to meet objectives outlined in the Business Plan. The candidate should demonstrate an innovative approach, embracing new working methods, and fostering partnerships to maximize community and sector involvement and secure external funding.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to organize workload are essential. This is a fixed-term position until September 2026.
