Assistant Project Officer (Cycling and Walking) | 8442 | Fixed Term Contract until 30 September 2026 | 37 hours per week | £27,711 to £30,060 per annum (Scale F) | County Hall

This role supports the Active Travel delivery team within the Environment Service by assisting with externally funded projects. The Assistant Project Officer will handle administrative tasks, manage budgets and financial data, and support project delivery through planning, risk management, and reporting.

The role contributes to Norfolk's walking, wheeling, and cycling strategy, promoting healthier, greener communities by encouraging active travel, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing overall quality of life and environmental health.

We seek an enthusiastic individual capable of working effectively within a team to meet objectives outlined in the Business Plan. The candidate should demonstrate an innovative approach, embracing new working methods, and fostering partnerships to maximize community and sector involvement and secure external funding.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the delivery of services and projects from conception to implementation.
  2. Monitor resources, programs, and budgets.
  3. Assist in preparing financial and activity reports and claims.
  4. Utilize systems and procedures for project control and delivery.
  5. Communicate project-related messages effectively.
  6. Support report production and document preparation.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to organize workload are essential. This is a fixed-term position until September 2026.
