Job Description:

Assistant Project Manager - Edinburgh, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Job Description

At Telent, we don’t just manage projects — we empower our people to lead them. As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering critical, complex work that keeps the UK’s essential infrastructure connected and protected 24/7. We give you the autonomy to innovate, take ownership, and make agile, informed decisions. If you’re looking for an environment where you can truly stretch your capabilities, grow professionally, and make a real impact — we want to hear from you.

Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll support the delivery of various Minor Works projects as part of our partnership with Transport for London (TfL), including systems such as CCTV, PA/VA, and Speaker Systems that help keep London moving safely and efficiently.

This is a hybrid role, with flexibility to work remotely while attending our Canning Town office two days per week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the end-to-end delivery of Minor Works projects for TfL (CCTV / PA/VA Systems / Speaker Systems)
  • Prepare cost estimates and quotes for new project opportunities
  • Assist with project mobilisation plans and tracking milestones
  • Monitor project finances and performance via internal systems
  • Coordinate daily activities of project teams, including subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with client and Telent QEHS standards
  • Gather and prepare inputs for monthly contract reviews

Who You Are:

You’re proactive and organized, with experience in project coordination or management, ideally in infrastructure sectors. You thrive in fast-paced environments, communicate clearly, and work confidently with stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in Rail, Telecoms, Construction, or Utilities projects
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness
  • Knowledge of QEHS standards
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication
  • Experience with TfL or London Underground projects is highly desirable
  • Working towards APM/PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is a plus

What We Offer:

A career at Telent offers opportunities to develop new skills, make an impact, and grow across sectors, roles, and technologies. We value diversity and inclusion, creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

Additional Benefits:

  • 34 days holiday (including public holidays) with buy/sell options, or 26 days plus holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Occupational health support and wellbeing portal
  • Discounts on cinema, restaurants, and shopping through Telent Reward scheme
