ScottishPower Renewables, based at Glasgow, seeks an Assistant Project Manager for onshore wind development. You will lead tasks from the Project Manager across feasibility, design, grid/land agreements and stakeholder engagement, supporting commercial business cases and environmental processes.

The role requires coordinating with suppliers and contributing to contracts while helping to deliver timely, within-budget projects.

  • Oversee feasibility assessments, design stages, grid and land agreements, stakeholder consultation and commercial development of business cases.
  • Provide input to environmental impact assessments, environmental statements and consent applications.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers/contractors, support tender assessments and ensure development activity progresses on time.
  • Contribute to commercial agreements and contracts to mitigate risks and assist in investment presentations.

G2 5ADSalary from £50,400 with up to 10% Annual Bonus and HealthcarePermanentFlexible and Hybrid Working AvailableClosing Date: 2 weeks from posting dateHelp us create a better future, quicker!As a key member of the Onshore Renewables Development Team, the Assistant Project Manager will play a vital role in advancing renewable energy projects (onshore wind).This position involves taking a proactive lead on various aspects of project development, while providing comprehensive technical, strategic and operational support to the Project Manager.The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-impact renewable energy projects, helping to drive the transition to a more sustainable energy future.What you will be doingYou will take on and manage tasks that have been allocated by the Project Manager to help develop ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) pipeline of renewable projects, in particular repowering. This will include the project management of feasibility assessments, design stages, securing grid and land agreements, stakeholder consultation and the commercial development of project business cases.You will also provide input to the environmental impact assessment process, including preparation of environmental statements and consent applications for our projects.We will look for you to liaise and coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to ensure delivery specifications are met; providing inputs on tender assessments and liaise with stakeholders to ensure development activities are progressed in a timely manner.You will also provide your input to all commercial agreements and contracts to ensure risks are mitigated and assist the Project Manager in the preparation and presentation of investment cases.What you’ll bringTo be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate as minimum your previous experience in a development role or within the Renewables or Energy industry, with the ability to translate technical detail into commercial impact.You will have experience in commercial negotiations and be able to analyse development issues, providing creative solutions to the team when required, utilising your ability to identify and source external resources and skills to help deliver our Renewables projects on time and on budget.Whats in it for youAs well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
