Job description

Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager (Commercial) to join the Anglian Water @One Alliance.

As part of Anglian Water’s @One Alliance, we aim to create a sustainable and resilient future for water. With an ambitious £2.3 billion capital investment in AMP8, we are transforming infrastructure, sustainability, and digital technology to protect the environment and support growing communities.

This Assistant Project Manager role will be within the Commercial Function, supporting the Central Commercial Team in areas such as Continuous Improvement, System Implementation, and Central Reporting. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to strengthen their commercial experience or develop into a broader commercial role.

What will you be doing as our new Assistant Project Manager?

To support project delivery excellence, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, safely, and with sustainability principles embedded. You will also drive efficiency and performance while maintaining governance and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee projects to ensure they stay on schedule and within budget, managing risks and opportunities proactively.
  • Visit sites to gather information and create reports and presentations that support project milestones.
  • Promote sustainability in design and construction, focusing on reducing energy use, carbon emissions, waste, and supply chain impacts.
  • Manage contract requirements related to design, construction, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and legislation.
  • Support the Project Delivery Manager in project close-out to meet client requirements and facilitate final account completion.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve project delivery and implement solutions to challenges.
Skills, Experience, and Behaviours

Applicants should have experience in delivering projects or coordinating complex activities, with a desire to develop a career in the commercial field. Willingness to travel across the region is important. Construction industry experience and strong stakeholder relationship skills are advantageous. You should be proactive, accountable, resilient, and comfortable working under pressure. Proficiency with IT programs and openness to new technology are also valued.
