Job summary

SSEN Transmission requires an Assistant Project Manager for the Offshore Delivery team, contributing to the Longside substation project at Netherton Hub, Peterhead. The role reports to the Senior/Project Manager and offers progression within large capital works. Based in Aberdeen with site duties at Peterhead, it includes a £36k-£54k salary plus car/allowance, bonus and comprehensive benefits.

The role

Due to significant, sustained growth throughout the Business we have an exciting Assistant Project Manager role within the SSEN-T Offshore Delivery team directly contributing to the execution phase delivery of the Longside AC 400kV/132kV AC substation project located at Netherton Hub, Peterhead. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals wishing to progress their career in the Project Management of large scale capital projects in a high performance team.

You will

• Conduct your duties with safety at the heart of your role ensuring all work is executed safely in accordance with the SSE safety licence – “if it's not safe, we don't do it.”.
• Be a visible member of the Project Management team having responsibility for delivery of packages within a £600m+ civil, building, and substation project as part of the wider Netherton Hub, interfacing with internal project support functions and working closely with external delivery contractors and consultants.
• Ensure project objectives are achieved in line with approved cost, programme and safety targets conducting your duties in accordance with the NEC3 contract management provision for your delegated packages, including interface management and change control.
• Build and maintain productive and enduring relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and communities to support the sustainable delivery of the packages that you are responsible for.

You have

• Experience in the delivery of execution phase capital projects.
• Experience in working with Safety management systems, CDM regulations, planning/programme's, cost, risk, quality, design, consents, and ability to navigate your duties within the context of the agreed contractual provisions (NEC3).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) with an understanding of project management systems and governance that facilitates the execution of large projects.
• An engineering, construction, or projects background with relevant qualification / degree or equivalent experience. You will preferably working towards or hold a professional membership or registration, in Project Management or similar.
• Site based delivery experience with a proactive & motivated approach that contributes to the successful delivery of your delegated packages of work.
