Job summary

slihrms is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to help deliver highways and local transport projects across the north of England and the UK. You will work with experienced teams to manage scope, programme, budget and quality, coordinating inputs from multiple disciplines and reporting to clients.

The role offers flexible and remote working options, with opportunities to grow in a leading transportation consultancy serving National Highways, local authorities and infrastructure partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or equivalent required.
• Actively working towards CEng or IEng is preferred.
• Good understanding of Eurocodes and UK design standards.
• Experience preparing reports and works packages.
• Able to manage tasks within timescales and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of highways and local transport projects.
• Maintain project controls: schedules, risk registers, cost data, progress reports.
• Coordinate inputs from multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Prepare progress updates and client-facing materials.
• Monitor delivery performance and support corrective actions.
• Develop strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
