The role:

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Design Manager to join our Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) team. This role involves securing and delivering multi-million-pound rail infrastructure projects and programs across our portfolio.

The position requires managing our experienced design and delivery teams, both in the UK and internationally, and maintaining key client relationships to ensure CRSA remains the preferred partner.

Travel within the UK and abroad may be required to attend project sites, CRSA offices, and client meetings based on project needs.

Your responsibilities:

• Leading multidisciplinary engineering coordination and delivery, supporting major infrastructure projects to be completed on time and within budget.
• Assisting in bid management to secure new work and foster growth.
• Promoting and maintaining high safety standards on all sites.
• Building and maintaining relationships with alliance partners, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Managing supply chain and subcontractor agreements confidently.
• Overseeing multiple design disciplines and projects, managing demands and stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications and experience:

• Proven experience in managing projects, engineering deliverables, or teams across multiple locations.
• Experience delivering projects within budget, schedule, and client specifications.
• Knowledge of Network Rail Engineering Design processes is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers, clients, contractors, and colleagues.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
• Degree or equivalent qualification; membership in the Association for Project Management or similar is desirable.
