The Role

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager/Design Manager to join our Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) team, helping secure and deliver multi-million-pound rail infrastructure projects and programmes across our portfolio.

The role involves managing our experienced design and delivery teams, located in the UK and abroad, and managing key client accounts to ensure CRSA remains the first choice for our clients. Travel within the role to project sites, CRSA, and client offices may be required depending on project needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Leading multidisciplinary engineering coordination and delivery, supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • Supporting bid management and securing future opportunities for growth.
  • Promoting and maintaining safety standards at all project sites.
  • Building relationships with alliance partners, key suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Managing supply chains and sub-contracts confidently.
  • Overseeing multiple design disciplines and projects, managing various demands and stakeholder expectations.

What You Can Bring

  • Experience managing projects, engineering deliverables, or teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience delivering projects within budget, schedule, and client specifications.
  • Knowledge of Network Rail Engineering Design processes is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to build relationships with suppliers, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, negotiation, conflict management, and leadership skills.
  • Degree qualification or equivalent; membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., APM) is desirable.
