Candidates should have relevant education and certifications, with experience in water treatment preferred.

Job description

Assistant Project Manager Opportunity!

Following allocation of several projects within the South West Water Framework and a growing future workload, I am looking to strengthen the Project Delivery team for this leading contractor, with an Assistant Project Manager.

You will report directly to the Snr Project Manager, and your role will be to work on a single or a portfolio of projects, providing support to the PM’s general duties.

Projects will include:

  • New Build Water Treatment Plants
  • Upgrades to Existing Plants
  • General Civils and MEICA Contracts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Design and Project Management team throughout the project lifecycle (Concept design – Handover).
  • Ensure H&S management arrangements and personnel are in place for the duration of the project.
  • Administer the Project Management Plan, ensuring Quality Assurance is incorporated in all aspects.
  • Manage accountability of internal and external stakeholders regarding programme obligations.
  • Escalate key project issues and risks, along with mitigation plans, to the Snr / Project Manager or QS.
  • Drive continuous improvement against contractual KPIs.
  • Assist in resource profiling of the project programme and team.
  • Support the Site Manager with look-ahead and supply chain progress reporting.

So… what are we looking for?

  • Experience in delivering Water Treatment Plants is preferred but not essential.
  • Educated to HND/HNC level.
  • Good knowledge of relevant H&S legislation, especially CDM duty holder relationships.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification preferred.
  • Working towards professional recognition with a chartered body is desirable.
