Assistant Project Manager

Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join a major water infrastructure project in Southampton. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a critical scheme with a major contractor. Outside Ir35

Responsibilities:

1. Support the Project Manager in overseeing all aspects of the project, including planning, coordination, and execution of works.
2. Manage and supervise a team of project staff, including engineers, site managers, and subcontractors.
3. Assist with developing and implementing project plans, risk assessments, and quality management procedures.
4. Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
5. Identify and manage potential risks and issues, proposing solutions and corrective actions.
6. Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget.
7. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and financial records.

Essential Qualifications:

1. Proven experience working as an Assistant Project Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry, with a strong focus on water infrastructure projects.
2. A strong understanding of project management methodologies, such as PRINCE2 or APM.
3. Experience working on complex water infrastructure projects, ideally within the AMP7 framework.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
