Job description

Are you looking for an opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the UK's most important decommissioning programmes? Join our Integration team within the Shaft & Silo Programme as an Assistant Project Manager.

A site based role with flexible role supporting the integration of projects, programmes, systems, and stakeholders across the site. This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines, helping to coordinate activities, manage interfaces, and ensure successful project outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

You will support the successful delivery of complex projects that contribute to NRS's decommissioning, compliance and operational objectives. Working alongside experienced project professionals, you will help coordinate activities across multiple workstreams, ensuring commitments are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.

This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, influence project delivery and develop your career within a challenging and highly regulated environment.

As a key member of the project team, you will support the Project Manager in coordinating and delivering decommissioning projects, helping to ensure work is planned, monitored and executed safely and effectively. You will work closely with operational teams, contractors and stakeholders to maintain programme performance, resolve issues and support the achievement of critical project milestones.

  • Support project planning, scheduling and programme baseline management to ensure successful delivery against commitments.
  • Coordinate project documentation, reporting, safety case requirements and handover activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor contractor and project performance, identifying risks, issues and opportunities for improvement while supporting effective solutions.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure resources, priorities and project objectives remain aligned.
What You Will Bring

We're seeking a motivated and organised individual with experience in a nuclear, industrial or similarly regulated environment. You will combine strong technical understanding with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enabling you to contribute effectively across multiple projects while maintaining a focus on safety, quality and delivery.

  • HND in Science, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), with relevant industrial or nuclear sector experience.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, contract management, safety requirements and regulatory compliance within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and analytical skills, with the ability to identify problems, evaluate options and implement practical solutions.
