Join a leading water treatment specialist and build a sustainable future!

My client is a leading provider delivering essential infrastructure solutions for AMP8. They are working to deliver upgrades to Water and Wastewater assets, including treatment sites, reservoirs and pumping stations, and are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help assist.

About the Role:

You will be a key leader on our projects, ensuring the successful delivery of water treatment plant construction and related infrastructure. You will lead and inspire a team, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and deliver exceptional results.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead with Safety: Own the safety culture on site. Ensure all activities are appropriately managed to guarantee a safe working environment for everyone.
  • Empower and Develop: Supervise, train, and mentor the site team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and maximizing individual contributions.
  • Communicate Effectively: Prepare clear, concise presentations to provide reporting and updates to clients and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Manage Relationships: Attend progress meetings with clients and contractors to actively manage the works and progress.
  • Plan and Execute: Review contractual agreements, develop working methods, RAMS, and project programs. Forecast budgets and assess actual program progress and productivity, taking corrective action where needed and reporting changes to the Project Manager and Commercial department.
  • Ensure Resource Optimization: Provide input to the program to ensure the appropriate specialists are available with the necessary skills to avoid impeding construction progress.
  • Address Issues and Maintain Records: Communicate effectively with the site team and the commercial team regarding non-conformances, contractual correspondence, and additional works. Maintain comprehensive records of resources employed.
  • Champion Quality and Safety: Ensure inspection and test plans, risk assessments, and method statements for the control of the works are reviewed, approved, and strictly adhered to.
  • Build Relationships: Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What You Need:

  • Proven Leadership: Significant experience in a site management role, ideally within the water treatment industry.
  • Academic Background: Degree level qualification or equivalent in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • Construction Expertise: Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
  • Contractual Understanding: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract, ideally gained through experience and formal training.
  • Safety and Compliance: Relevant CSCS Card, and training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
