Joining our professional and expert in-house team, you'll manage an extremely varied portfolio of projects across the Royal estate.

This role will be based at Buckingham Palace with some travel to other locations and sites.

Key Responsibilities

  1. With support from the Project Managers, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end project and programme management of a range of smaller projects. This will include planning, preparing specifications and schedules of work, as well as management of the procurement process, appointment of contractors, and supervision of every project through to completion and final handover to our Operations team.
  2. For every project, you’ll oversee all compliance, legislation and risk management, as well as financial and contract management, and record and asset information.
  3. You will also support the wider project team with the delivery of other major or more complex projects.
  4. These are busy working buildings; you’ll liaise closely with the team to coordinate projects so that our calendar of events and operations can continue.
  5. You'll ensure your projects consider the needs of a diverse range of internal stakeholders. You’ll be a vital interface, building relationships with colleagues and communicating regularly on the impact and progress of works.

About You

Essential Criteria

  1. You’ll have a degree (or professional certifications) in a relevant subject and working towards a relevant professional certification or chartered status.
  2. With relevant experience as a Project Manager, ideally gained within an environment of occupied spaces or historic spaces, you’ll have skills managing the end-to-end project lifecycle, including procurement, financial governance and contract management.
  3. A good understanding of statutory compliance and risk management in relation to the delivery of projects will be important.
  4. You’ll also have a good working knowledge of MS Office, ideally experience of programme management software and CAD suites.
  5. Organised, pragmatic and with lots of initiative, you'll know how to juggle a varied portfolio, and can adapt to tight deadlines and changing circumstances.
  6. Diplomatic and collaborative in approach, you’re a natural communicator used to working with colleagues, contractors and in-house teams, able to quickly build credibility at all levels.
  7. You're resourceful and proactive, keen to look for innovative solutions with a customer focus, making you a valued member of the team.
