This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant and complex estates, valued at over £3 billion and comprising more than 270 buildings and four million sq. ft. of academic and residential space.
About The Role
This pivotal role supports the full lifecycle of engineering-led projects, from conception to delivery. You'll work closely with project teams, engineers, and stakeholders to develop compelling business cases, coordinate bids, and manage tender submissions. Your expertise will directly influence how UCL secures funding and delivers world-class infrastructure to support teaching, learning and research.
- Craft and develop high-quality business cases and funding bids aligned with strategic goals.
- Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, persuasive narratives.
- Coordinate bid submissions and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to secure public and private sector funding.
- Research, track and report on funding opportunities and outcomes.
About You
Proven experience in writing
business cases, funding proposals, or grant applications
Background or qualification in
engineering (or similar technical discipline)
Excellent communication and writing skills – able to bring technical ideas to life
Strong research and project management skills
Comfortable working across a broad portfolio of engineering-focused projects
Desirable: Experience writing successful bids for large-scale, complex projects or within the higher education sector.
