About the role

Employed by London Borough of Camden, the Assistant Project Manager will be based in North London Waste Authority (NLWA), serving Camden and six other north London boroughs that make up its membership.

Are you confident managing projects and stakeholders? Are you passionate about the environment and want to make a difference? This could be the role for you.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated project professional to join NLWA's Portfolio Management team. You'll be a valuable member of a team delivering corporate and project change activities across the organisation.

The postholder will be expected to establish the scope on small-medium sized projects and then deliver them to completion. This will involve managing expectations of a broad range of stakeholders to deliver effective change activities and embedding good project practices.

Using effective project management principles, you will be required to plan and deliver comms activity and projects across the organisation, working closely with officers working in the organisation and the seven north London boroughs to promote services and partners working on major projects.

We offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual to work on a wide range of projects.

Being a great taskmaster is what we are looking for, where no one day will be the same. Due to the breadth of change taking place at the Authority, you will also deliver digital, operational and property related projects.

Attention to detail is important where the postholder will be expected to administer project set up, regular support and management, and procurement exercises, ensuring compliance with Standing Orders and Statutory timescale. Other activities include supporting the production of project communications materials and presenting data in a clear and simple way.

About you

You will have experience of organising a high volume, varied workload without day-to-day supervision, along with an excellent understanding of the diverse range of communications and project tools and an ability to deliver within tight deadlines and to budget.

You will have a minimum of two years' experience in a similar role and experience and knowledge of risk, delivery and project management disciplines. You will have a recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, Agile, etc) or be willing to work towards achieving this.
