Assistant Project Manager – Sustainable Infrastructure
About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for managing projects from initial research through to implementation and long-term operation, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. This role involves working closely with landowners, consultants, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams involved in related renewable energy developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to identify the best locations for new projects, initially prioritising areas near existing renewable energy sites.
- Assess project requirements and propose tailored solutions, including additional on-site services such as retail options and amenities to enhance value.
- Oversee all stages of project execution, from procurement and construction to testing and commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Engage with landowners, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to secure approvals and ensure seamless project delivery.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, risk assessments, and resource allocation to ensure projects progress efficiently.
- Coordinate effectively between departments to align project objectives with wider business goals.
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth delivery.
- Lead community engagement efforts to maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders.
- Provide regular reports to keep senior management and investors informed on project progress.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to ensure projects incorporate innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Conduct site visits to monitor safety, quality, and operational performance, ensuring ongoing compliance and an excellent user experience.
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, risk assessment, and problem-solving to ensure successful project execution.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Awareness of the latest advancements in technology, renewable energy integration, and smart grid solutions to enhance project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in engineering, project management, or a related field. A master’s degree would be advantageous.
- Recognised project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent qualifications are beneficial.
