Overview
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of key decommissioning work packages. This role sits within a project team responsible for dismantling, demolition, and plant removal, with a particular focus on high-priority boilers and ancillary equipment. The position requires a sound understanding of project governance, planning, and financial controls, ideally gained in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and coordination of project plans, monitoring progress and milestone delivery.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating project documentation and deliverables.
- Apply project management procedures across administrative, project, and design functions.
- Support communication planning, meeting documentation, and progress tracking.
- Facilitate integration across project disciplines and maintain alignment with project baselines.
- Help identify and evaluate issues affecting scope, cost, or schedule.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, clients, and contractors.
Candidate Profile
- HNC/HND or equivalent (NQF Level 5) in a relevant technical discipline (essential).
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a project management environment (essential).
- APM Project Fundamentals Qualification or equivalent (required), with a commitment to achieve APM PMQ within one year.
- Understanding of basic project management practices and processes (essential).
- Proven ability to manage responsibilities and deliver outcomes to a high standard.
- Experience in complex or highly regulated organisations is desirable.
